In the play (and movie) Rent there is a great song called La Vie Bohème. It is a salute to the “Bohemian” lifestyle of artists and the coffee houses where they perform and exhibit their works. Since moving down to South Florida, I felt that coffee meant Starbucks and that was about it. Then I had a client introduce me to Les Beans Coffeehouse in Lake Worth, Florida.

Les Beans Coffee is a bohemian utopia just North of Downtown Lake Worth Florida.

There you’ll find a wide array of wonderful coffees that are all Organic and Fair Trade Certified. Their featured coffee is Café Femenino, an organic, Fair Trade coffee grown exclusively by a women’s coffee cooperative in Peru.

Les Beans Coffeehouse also has a stage where they host local and regional musicians. You can find their performance calendar on their MySpace page.

Les Beans Coffee has that dark and cozy coffee house feel that Starbucks is lacking. Sure, it is harder to read a paper at night there but you shouldn’t be reading when an artist is performing anyway!!

During the day, Les Beans Coffee is a great place to meet for business or pleasure. With Wi-Fi access and comfortable surroundings this is a great place to escape to in the quaint and kitchy Downtown Lake Worth Florida.

Oops…. I almost forgot. The most endearing part of my experience meeting Patti, one of the owners of Les Beans Coffe, was our shared love of African Coffees. Go in and sip some Ethiopia Sophie or one of their special house blends. Tell Patti or Desiree to mix up your favorite hot or iced brew… or try one of their great Cafe con Leches!
